Hi! I go by koi online, and this is for my studytwt account that I made to find like-minded people who want to constantly improve & become their best selves. I love academia, polymathy, self-improvement, music, reading (mostly non-fiction and theses), running, writing, typology, activism, collecting capri-sun pouches, delivering speeches, alone time (a lot)… Fun fact I have about 300 capri-sun pouches in my inventory all of which I personally drank. The color yellow is one of my favorite things in this world. My superpowers are my introspection, self-awareness and independence. I don’t like noise, gossiping, shallow/nonchalant people, right-wingers/conservatives & honestly much more but I generally don’t let anyone or anything bother me much.

The story of my online nickname has a deep meaning and I would like to share it with studytwt for inspiration. There’s a well-known Chinese legend about koi fish swimming upstream in the Yellow River. According to the myth: Most gave up. But one determined koi kept going until it finally reached the top of a powerful waterfall known as the Dragon Gate.
The gods rewarded the koi’s perseverance by transforming it into a powerful dragon. The koi fish symbolize perseverance in adversity, ambition and success after hard work, transformation and personal growth, & courage to swim against the current. For about three years ago when I decided to adopt this name, I actually was going through the worst times of my life and I wanted to be like the koi fish against those bad times. Now that “random” nickname got so big that even real-life people call me koi sometimes as a joke and it gives me the best feeling.
